Way over saturated and with it easy now to get templates, the problem got worse. In the early days we all made are own templates and did not sell them so it kept new comers in check (now we see people selling our templates).
When there was just a few of us we all made a living. Countless guys have moved on and most of todays new guys will end up finding better ways to make a living. All in all this little niche is pretty unhealthy.

Doesn't matter, IMO the competition has never been weaker, Most have no real eye for good design, the cream will always rise to the top, Just stay fresh, don't copy, and always try to level up your look, do the research, put in the time, and you will do just fine in this game.
